Independent BFT electric gate repair in Las Vegas typically runs $185 to $540 for most common failures, and we can have a tech at your gate within 24 hours in most Las Vegas neighborhoods. We’re not owned by BFT and we don’t pretend to be. We’re a local Las Vegas gate repair company that opened in 2008 and has kept BFT slide and swing operators running across Summerlin, Henderson, Centennial Hills, and the older guard-gated communities near The Lakes. Every job gets a written price before anyone touches a wrench, and every repair is backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. Call (725) 529-9468 and a live person answers, day or night.
How BFT Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
BFT builds solid operators, but Las Vegas tests every brand differently than the manufacturer’s test bench in Italy. Heat, dust, and long daily cycles in gated communities push BFT systems toward a handful of predictable failures. When a BFT gate stops responding, here’s what we usually find:
- The Aries and Deimos control boards are sensitive to voltage sags. Las Vegas neighborhoods with older transformers, especially parts of Spring Valley and Paradise, get brownout dips in summer when every AC unit on the block kicks on at once. The BFT board sees the dip and trips a fault, or in worse cases the capacitor on the board itself swells and fails. We test line voltage before we ever condemn a board, because replacing a board on a power problem means you’ll buy another board next summer. The fix is the board and often a surge protector wired ahead of it.
- Phobos and Rigel slide gate motors cook their run capacitors in the heat. The capacitor that starts the motor doesn’t like sustained 105-degree afternoons inside a metal housing. The gate will hum and not move, or move a foot and stall. A good capacitor is a $40 to $70 part. We use OEM BFT capacitors or equivalent-spec American-made ones, never the cheapest import, because this part fails on the hottest day you need the gate the most.
- BFT photocells drift out of alignment on gates that get bumped or where posts shift. Las Vegas soil has a lot of caliche, and posts can move slightly with temperature swings. The cell that was lined up in April isn’t lined up in August. The gate refuses to close or reverses as if it hit something. We see this constantly on BFT swing gates in Rancho Circle and the Scotch 80s, where the concrete in the drive expands just enough to nudge a post. Usually it’s realignment and a tightened bracket; sometimes the photocell needs replacement if the lens has micro-crazed from UV exposure.
- The BFT Thalia and Lux line rely on battery backup, and Las Vegas kills batteries faster than any climate except Phoenix. A battery rated for three years in a mild climate lasts maybe sixteen to twenty months here. When the battery goes, the gate loses memory and you get error codes that don’t point at the battery. Owners call us thinking the board is dead. We test the battery first, every time. It’s a wear item, not a defect, and it’s a cheap fix versus buying a board you didn’t need.
- Limit switch failures on BFT slide gates come from dust buildup on the magnet track. BFT slide operators use magnetic limit switches, and the fine silt that blows through Las Vegas coats the magnet and the track until the gate loses its stop position. The gate slams the end stop, or stops short, or throws an error and goes into manual. We clean and reseal the limit housing and adjust the stops. On older BFT units where the limit switch is sealed and worn internally, we replace it and you’ve bought years more life from the operator.

Our BFT Electric Gate Repair Process
You don’t get an anonymous van and a surprise invoice. Here’s what a BFT repair call looks like with us, from the moment you dial to the moment we leave:
- 1
You call (725) 529-9468. A live person answers, asks what the gate is doing wrong, and takes your address. We book the appointment and tell you the service call fee before we hang up.
- 2
We send you the tech’s name and photo before arrival. That’s the Threshold Standard, on every single visit. When the tech rings your bell, he shows a photo ID badge that matches the picture we texted.
- 3
Diagnostics on site. The tech checks line voltage, tests the battery, reads fault codes from the BFT board, and cycles the gate manually. We don’t guess. We verify the exact failure before we quote anything.
- 4
Written price before work starts. We hand you or email you a written quote with parts and labor separated. You approve it first. No approval, no wrench turns. If the fix is more involved than the initial finding, we stop and re-quote. You’re never on the hook for a number you didn’t agree to.
- 5
The repair. We use OEM BFT parts when the part affects safety or warranty, and quality aftermarket alternatives when they’re functionally identical and save you real money. We’ll tell you which is which and why.
- 6
Test and cleanup. We cycle the gate ten to fifteen times, test safety sensors and auto-reverse, and wipe down the work area. Then we hand you a written guarantee on the repair, backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If that repair fails within a year, the return visit is free.
Tell me what it’s doing wrong, and I’ll tell you exactly what it costs to fix it. That’s how we run every BFT job in Las Vegas, whether it’s a Deimos board in Green Valley or a Rigel capacitor in Summerlin.

AfterWhat BFT Electric Gate Repair Costs in Las Vegas
Straight numbers, because that’s why you’re reading this. Here’s what independent BFT repair work on Las Vegas gates realistically costs:
- Service call + diagnostic: $89 (waived if we do the repair)
- Run capacitor replacement: $185 to $260 installed
- Photocell / safety sensor repair or replacement: $145 to $225 per pair
- Limit switch replacement: $195 to $290
- BFT control board replacement (Aries, Deimos, Thalia): $380 to $540 installed, depending on model
- BFT motor or full operator replacement: $1,200 to $2,800, depending on slide vs swing and HP
What moves the price: whether the failure is electrical or mechanical, the age of the operator, whether parts are available locally or have to come from a distributor in Phoenix, and how far we’re driving within the Las Vegas valley. A capacitor on a newer Rigel is a quick job. A control board on a 15-year-old Deimos that needs rewiring is not. Either way, you get the written price before we start, and the estimate phone call is free. Call (725) 529-9468.

Every repair is guaranteed in writing, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise makes it simple: if it fails, we come back free. A warden is trusted to watch over a place and keep it secure. That’s the whole idea. We send you a name, a face, a written price, and a guarantee, because opening your gate to a stranger shouldn’t feel like a gamble. Cole Rafferty runs our Las Vegas crew, and he still answers the phone when it rings in the middle of a repair.
FAQs
We will, but we’ll tell you first whether the repair might void that warranty, and we’ll never push you toward a repair that costs you money you didn’t have to spend. If your operator is under BFT factory warranty, the most honest move may be calling the installing dealer; we’ll tell you if your failure looks like a warranty item before we quote anything. Our written price and the 365-Day Done Right Promise apply to every repair we do regardless.
Common parts like capacitors, photocells, and limit switches are usually available same week from regional distributors in Phoenix and Salt Lake. Control boards for older BFT lines can sometimes take 3 to 7 business days if they’re not stocked locally. When a board is on backorder, we’ll give you a temporary workaround where it’s safe to run the gate manually, and we’ll keep you updated without you having to chase us.
If the operator is under 10 years old and the repair is under about $500, repairing is almost always the better financial call in Las Vegas, where a good BFT unit should last 12 to 15 years before it’s truly worn out. If the operator is pushing 15 years and needs both a board and a motor, you’re at the point where a new operator costs less than feeding the old one. We’ll show you both numbers and let you decide. Call (725) 529-9468 for a straight answer on your specific gate.
In most Las Vegas neighborhoods, we can get a tech to you within 24 hours, and same-day dispatch is common. Live phone coverage runs 24/7, so if your gate dies at 7 p.m. and it’s a security issue for your property, call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether the problem is urgent or whether it can wait until morning, and we won’t invent an emergency to charge you a night-call fee that isn’t warranted.
Every repair we complete carries a written one-year guarantee. If the same repair fails within 365 days, we return and fix it at no cost for labor or parts. The only things not covered are new damage caused by weather, vandalism, or a vehicle hitting the gate. You don’t have to register anything or fill out a form; the guarantee is tied to your address in our system.
If your BFT gate is acting up, call Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas at (725) 529-9468 for a free estimate over the phone. You’ll get a live person, a straight answer, and a written price before any work begins.
