BFT gate motor repair in Las Vegas typically runs $165 to $485, and most jobs are completed the same day we arrive. We’re an independent BFT service provider, which means we’re not tied to any corporate repair network or manufacturer pricing schedule. You’ll get a written price before any work starts, and that price doesn’t change when the job is done.
This page is for the neighbor whose BFT gate stopped swinging or sliding, and who wants to know two things before calling anyone: what’s actually wrong with the motor, and what it’ll cost to fix. If that’s you, call (725) 529-9468 and we’ll talk you through it. Cole Rafferty owns Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas, and he’s the one who trained the tech who’ll show up at your door.
How BFT Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
BFT motors are solid units, but Las Vegas heat and dust work on them in ways the factory doesn’t always plan for. Here’s what we actually see on BFT jobs across Las Vegas, from Summerlin to Henderson:
- BFT DEIMOS BT A400 capacitor failure: This is the most common BFT failure in Las Vegas. The capacitor sits inside the control box and eventually cooks in our summers. Classic symptom: the motor hums but the gate doesn’t move. A non-BFT tech will sometimes condemn the entire motor. We test the capacitor first, replace it with the correct microfarad rating, and the gate runs again for under $100 in most cases.
- BFT IGEA / IGEA BT limit switch drift: If your gate used to open fully and now stops short or over-travels, the limit cams inside the gearbox have worked loose. On IGEA series units, this happens from years of heat cycling. We open the gearbox, reset the cams to spec, and torque everything back down. It’s a $130 to $190 repair, not a motor replacement.
- Control board burnout after power surges: Las Vegas summer monsoons bring lightning and grid flickers. BFT control boards, especially on the DEIMOS and PHOBOS lines, are sensitive to voltage spikes without a surge protector. We replace the board with an OEM or equivalent-rated part, then recommend and install a surge protector on the circuit. That second step keeps it from happening again next storm season.
- Photocell misalignment on slide gates: BFT slide gates use a pair of photocells to detect obstructions. In Las Vegas, shifting caliche soil under the gate track can throw the photocells out of alignment, which makes the gate reverse for no reason or refuse to close. We re-align the cells, verify the beam with a test meter, and the false reversals stop.
- Gearbox oil weep on elderly BFT units: If your BFT motor is 10+ years old and you see an oil sheen beneath the gearbox, the input shaft seal has hardened. This isn’t a reason to trash the motor. We drain and refill the gearbox, replace the seal, and you’ve got years left on that unit. It’s a $210 to $280 repair versus $900+ for a new motor installed.

Our BFT Gate Motor Repair Process
Every BFT job follows the same path, whether it’s a capacitor swap or a full motor replacement. Here’s how it works from your first call to the final test:
- 1
You call and describe the symptom. Tell us what the gate is doing, or not doing. Cole’s line: “Tell me what it’s doing wrong, and I’ll tell you exactly what it costs to fix it.” We’ll give you a rough range over the phone.
- 2
We send you the tech’s name and photo before arrival. No anonymous van. You’ll know who’s coming, what they look like, and when they’ll be there. This is the Threshold Standard, on every single visit.
- 3
On-site diagnosis. The tech tests the capacitor, limit switches, board, and gearbox. On a BFT, he’ll run through the failure points listed above before naming a fix. You get a written price for the repair, with parts and labor separated.
- 4
Parts decision. We use OEM BFT parts when they’re available and when the warranty matters. For older models where BFT has discontinued parts, we source quality aftermarket equivalents that match the original spec. You’ll know which one you’re getting and why before we order anything.
- 5
The repair and a full cycle test. We fix it, then run the gate through 15 to 20 open/close cycles, check the safety edges and photocells, and tune the motor’s speed and force settings to factory spec.
- 6
Written guarantee and the 365-Day Done Right Promise. Every repair is guaranteed in writing. If the fix fails within a year, the return visit is free, no questions asked.

Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas for BFT Work
Most gate repair companies in Las Vegas will take a BFT job, but BFT isn’t the brand they know best. We work on BFT motors every week, so the diagnosis is faster and the repair is right the first time. And if your issue turns out to be something on a different brand, we’re factory-trained on all nine majors we service, including LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing.
The bigger reason people call us is the one Cole built the company around: you know who’s coming to your door and you know what it costs before they get there. A warden is someone trusted to watch over a place and keep it secure. That’s the whole idea. Background-checked tech, photo sent before arrival, written price before work starts, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise on every repair. If the fix isn’t right, the return trip is free. Simple as that.
FAQs
No. We’re an independent BFT service provider, not a manufacturer-authorized warranty center. If your BFT motor is still under warranty, we’ll advise you to contact BFT directly for a warranty claim. If it’s out of warranty, which covers most of the BFT units we see in Las Vegas, we can fix it without voiding anything further.
Same-day service is available for most BFT gate motor repairs in Las Vegas, especially when the gate is stuck open or closed. Call (725) 529-9468 and we’ll tell you the soonest window we can have a tech at your property.
We use OEM BFT parts whenever they’re available, especially for control boards and capacitors where the exact spec matters. For older BFT models where the factory has discontinued a part, we source quality aftermarket equivalents that match the original rating. We’ll tell you which one your repair uses and why before we order.
Yes. A BFT motor that won’t move is usually one of three things: a failed capacitor, a dead control board, or a tripped thermal overload from the Las Vegas heat. We’ll diagnose it on site, give you the written price for the fix, and in most cases have it running the same day. Call (725) 529-9468 for a free estimate.
