If your BFT gate is sagging, grinding, or dragging across the driveway, you’re looking at a hinge and roller replacement. In Las Vegas, we stock BFT-compatible hinges and roller assemblies on our trucks and typically install them for $185 to $420 depending on your gate’s weight and how many hinge points need attention. Most single-family gate jobs are done the same day we arrive. The way most owners find out is simple: the gate still opens, but it makes a sound like a shopping cart with a bad wheel, or the top corner visibly drops when the gate is halfway through its swing.
That sag is the hinge wearing out. The grinding is the roller fighting a track it no longer lines up with. Both are fixable, and both are jobs we handle for BFT systems across Las Vegas every week.
Which BFT Models This Applies To
BFT manufactures a wide range of gate automation equipment, but the hinge and roller assemblies on the gate itself are typically matched to the gate’s physical construction, not the motor. That said, we see this work most often on BFT swing and slide gate installs across the Deimos, Phobos, and Botticelli lines, as well as older BFT automated driveway gates paired with standard steel or wrought iron frames.
Here’s the part most owners don’t know: BFT doesn’t make every hinge and roller for every gate that carries a BFT motor. Many Las Vegas gates were built by local fabricators using generic heavy-duty hardware, then automated with a BFT operator. So the hinge on your gate might be a standard 4-inch barrel hinge or an adjustable weld-on hinge, while the roller underneath is a common 2-inch or 3-inch nylon wheel on a steel bracket. What matters is matching the measurement, weight rating, and mounting pattern to your existing hardware, not chasing a BFT logo on the part. We carry OEM BFT hardware where it exists and quality aftermarket equivalents where it doesn’t. The aftermarket hinges we install carry the same load rating and we stand behind them with the same written guarantee.
To identify what you need, look for a stamp or sticker on the hinge leaf or roller bracket. Measure the hinge leaf length and the roller wheel diameter. If you’re not sure, take a photo and send it to us. Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas is an independent service provider, not a BFT affiliate, so we’re free to pick the strongest, best-matched part for your gate without brand loyalty getting in the way.

Signs Your BFT Hinge & Roller Replacement Is Failing
- Visibly sagging gate corner. The top corner opposite the hinge side drops when the gate is open. This means the hinge pin or the hinge leaf has worn past tolerance, and the gate is now cantilevering more weight than the hardware was rated for.
- Metal-on-metal grinding sound. The roller wheel has gone flat or the bearing inside it seized, so the steel bracket is dragging on the rail. Left alone, it gouges the track and you’re replacing more than the roller.
- Gate jerks instead of glides. The roller rides over worn sections of track or the hinge binds mid-swing. The BFT motor keeps pushing, which strains the operator and shortens its life.
- Track marks on the driveway. In Las Vegas, heat and dust grind away roller wheels faster than cooler climates. If you see a scored arc in the concrete, the roller has been sliding, not rolling, for a while.
- The gate scrapes at the latch or striker. That’s the hinge letting the gate’s weight settle. The motor is still doing its job, but the hardware below it isn’t holding alignment anymore.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Las Vegas, BFT hinge and roller replacement runs $185 to $420 installed. The biggest variable is gate weight. A light single-swing pedestrian gate with one hinge pair and one roller lands at the lower end. A heavy driveway slide gate or double swing gate with multiple hinge points and two roller assemblies lands at the top or slightly beyond.
The price you get from us is the written price, before any work starts. No open-ended hourly billing, no surprise line items when the job is done. The number covers the hinge or roller parts, installation labor, alignment of the gate on its track or posts, and testing of the BFT operator to verify it’s not fighting the new hardware. Every replacement carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely check the visible condition of your hinges and rollers: look for cracked weld points, a roller that doesn’t spin when the gate is off the track, or powder coating that’s flaked away exposing rust. You can photograph it and send it to us for a real assessment.
What you shouldn’t do is try to lift or rehang a sagging gate yourself. A solid steel driveway gate can weigh 300 to 600 pounds. When you loosen a hinge bolt on that, the gate drops and it doesn’t ask permission. We’ve seen Las Vegas garages where a homeowner propped a gate with a floor jack and a 2×4, and the gate ended up on the hood of a car. Springs under tension and heavy panels are a different animal than a squeaky interior door. If the hinge or roller is gone, call us at (725) 529-9468 and we’ll get you on the schedule with a written price before anyone touches metal.
FAQs
In the Las Vegas climate, expect 5 to 8 years from a quality hinge or roller before heat, dust, and daily thermal expansion start degrading the bearings and mounting surfaces. Gates that are used more than 10 cycles a day or that sit exposed to blowing sand will land on the shorter end. After 8 years, you’re on borrowed time.
In most cases, no. Once a roller wheel has flat-spotted or the bearing has seized, the wear pattern can’t be machined back to round. We occasionally salvage the bracket and replace only the wheel, but if the bracket is bent or the mounting holes have elongated, it’s faster and cheaper to replace the whole assembly. Call (725) 529-9468 and we’ll tell you straight what your gate needs.
Most single-gate replacements in Las Vegas take 1 to 2 hours on site. A heavy double gate with multiple failing hinge points can run 3 to 4 hours. We carry the common BFT-compatible sizes and ratings on the truck, so we don’t have to leave and hunt for parts mid-job.
We keep common BFT-compatible hinge and roller assemblies stocked on our weld truck and service vans. If your gate needs a non-standard size, we source it same-week. We also work on LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls gates, so we carry a range of hardware that crosses brands. You don’t need to order anything yourself.
