We stock Viking-compatible hinge and roller replacement parts on our trucks and install them across Las Vegas, typically between $145 and $265 per hinge assembly including labor. Same-day service is available when we’re already in your part of the valley. Most owners discover the problem the same way: the gate starts dragging on one side, makes a grinding noise that wasn’t there before, or sags just enough that the latch stops lining up. Sometimes you can see the roller itself has flattened or cracked. Other times the hinge pin has worn oval and the whole gate sits crooked. Either way, once a Viking hinge or roller goes, the gate gets heavier on the operator every single day it runs.
Which Viking Models This Applies To
Viking gate hardware shows up on a lot of different installations in Las Vegas because Viking sold through distributors who paired their iron with various opener brands. The hinge and roller assemblies we replace are the heavy galvanized steel barrel hinges and the nylon or steel wheel rollers used on Viking slide gates, primarily the G-5, L-3, and T-21 series frames, as well as the Viking Estate and Titan lines. Here’s the compatibility gotcha: Viking changed the hinge barrel diameter between production runs. Some older gates use a 1-inch barrel hinge with a 5/8-inch pin. Newer Viking frames, especially anything installed after 2015 in Las Vegas developments, typically use a 1-1/4-inch barrel with a 3/4-inch pin. If someone sells you the wrong barrel size, the gate will bind up the first time the temperature swings. And in Las Vegas, the temperature swings hard. We measure the existing pin and barrel before we quote anything. Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Viking, so we can install either OEM Viking parts or quality aftermarket equivalents that match the exact measurements of your current hardware. For most Las Vegas homeowners, a properly spec’d aftermarket hinge assembly from a steel fabricator we trust holds up as well as OEM and costs about 30% less. We’ll show you both options and the price difference before you decide.

Signs Your Viking Hinge & Roller Replacement Is Failing
- The gate rubs or scrapes along the track on one end. The roller has worn flat on one side or the hinge has sagged enough that the gate no longer sits level. This puts extra strain on the gate motor and shortens its life.
- You hear a grinding or squealing noise when the gate moves. The roller bearing has gone dry or the nylon wheel has cracked. In Las Vegas dust and heat, sealed bearings lose their grease faster than manufacturers expect, especially on south-facing gates with no shade.
- The gate sags visibly when it’s fully open. The hinge pin has worn the barrel into an oval shape. This is the most common failure we see on Viking gates that are 8 to 12 years old in Las Vegas. The weight of the gate working against the pin eventually deforms the metal.
- The latch or lock no longer lines up with the receiver post. The whole gate has dropped a fraction of an inch. Owners sometimes shim the latch plate, but the real fix is the hinge assembly underneath.
- The gate jerks or stutters as it opens or closes. The roller has stopped rolling and is now dragging. Check the roller surface. If it’s flat-spotted or the wheel doesn’t spin by hand with the gate in the open position, it’s done. Running it this way can burn out the operator’s gearbox, which is a much more expensive repair than a hinge and roller swap.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Las Vegas, a complete Viking hinge and roller replacement typically runs between $145 and $265 per hinge assembly installed. A single hinge with a new roller, new pin, and new mounting hardware sits at the lower end. A double-hinge assembly repaired with both sides replaced and the gate re-leveled lands at the higher end. The range comes down to three things: how many rollers need replacing, whether the hinge mounting plate has rusted through and needs a reinforcing plate welded on, and whether the gate itself has to be lifted and re-hung. You’ll know the exact number before we start. No line items appear at the end that weren’t on the written estimate you approved.
Every hinge and roller replacement from Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the hinge fails or the gate starts sagging again within a year, the return visit is free. That’s in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
Some parts of this job are safe to inspect yourself. You can open the gate fully and look at the roller wheels. You can grab the gate in the middle and lift up to feel for slop in the hinge pins. If the gate lifts more than a quarter inch, the hinge is worn. What you should not do is try to unbolt a hinge from a hung Viking gate and replace it yourself. These gates weigh several hundred pounds. Once the first hinge bolt comes out, the gate can twist, drop, or swing into the operator post or the fence line. We’ve seen a homeowner spend an afternoon with a floor jack and a ratchet strap and end up with a crooked gate and a bent mounting plate. The re-hang is where the skill is. Getting the gate level again after new hinges go in, and setting the roller height so the operator isn’t fighting the weight, is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that fails again in six months. If you’re in Las Vegas and want it done right the first time, call (725) 529-9468 and we’ll give you a straight answer on cost before we schedule anything.
FAQs
We typically see 8 to 12 years from Viking hinges and rollers in the Las Vegas climate, with gates in full afternoon sun on the east side of town wearing out faster than shaded gates in Summerlin. The heat dries out roller grease and the wind-driven dust acts like sandpaper on the hinge pins. If you get under 10 years on a south-facing unshaded gate, that’s normal, not a defect. Call (725) 529-9468 if you suspect your hinges are nearing the end and want us to take a look.
Usually not in a way that lasts. Once the hinge pin has worn the barrel into an oval, tightening or greasing it only buys you a few weeks. The only real repair is a new hinge assembly with a new pin and roller. We’ll always tell you if we think greasing and adjusting will get you another season, but on a Viking gate that’s sagging or grinding, replacement is the honest fix.
Most single-hinge Viking replacements are done in 90 minutes to two hours on site. If we’re replacing both hinge assemblies and re-leveling the gate, plan for half a day. We bring the parts, the welding gear, and the lift equipment on the truck, so there’s no second trip for parts ordering on common Viking hinge sizes.
We stock the common Viking barrel hinge sizes and roller wheel diameters on our trucks: 1-inch and 1-1/4-inch barrels, 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch pins, and 4-inch and 6-inch V-groove rollers. If your gate needs an uncommon size or a custom barrel length, we’ll measure it and let you know the lead time for a matched aftermarket equivalent. Most Las Vegas Viking gates we see use the sizes we already carry.
