BFT gate repair in Las Vegas typically runs $180 to $420 for most board, limit switch, and capacitor failures, with most repairs completed same-day when parts are on the truck. We’re an independent BFT service provider, which means we answer to you, not to a manufacturer’s warranty department. If you own a BFT swing or slide gate and it’s beeping, stuck mid-travel, or refusing to respond, this page tells you exactly what you’re up against and what it costs to fix.
This is written for Las Vegas homeowners who have a BFT operator on their driveway gate, pool gate, or community entrance and want a straight answer before anyone picks up a wrench. Our owner Cole Rafferty has been doing BFT repairs here for years, and the phone number to reach him is (725) 529-9468.
How BFT Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
BFT has a reputation for solid Italian engineering, but the Las Vegas climate treats every gate opener like a stress test. Heat, dust, and hard water do specific things to these units. Here’s what actually shows up on service calls:
- Capacitor failure on the Deimos BT and Phobos lines. The run capacitor sits inside the control box and cooks in Las Vegas summer heat. The gate starts to stall halfway through its travel, hums, and then trips the thermal overload. We replace the capacitor with a heat-rated equivalent and check the start winding current before calling it done.
- Limit switch drift on older Rigel 5 and Rigel 6 boards. These boards use mechanical limit switches that wear and lose their exact stop point. The gate over-travels, slams into the end stop, and the board throws a fault. We re-set the limits, replace the worn micro-switch, and re-learn the travel profile.
- Photocell misalignment from gate post movement. Las Vegas soil expands and contracts with rain and drought, so posts shift by fractions of an inch every year. A BFT safety photocell that’s even slightly out of alignment puts the gate into reverse or freezes it in place. We re-align, shim, and if the post has drifted too far, re-set the post base before re-aiming the sensors.
- Corrosion on the actuator arm of BFT hydraulic swing operators. The BFT hydraulic line (used on heavier swing gates) develops seal leaks at the actuator rod after five to seven years of desert dust and heat exposure. The gate gets sluggish, then stops mid-swing. We rebuild the actuator with fresh seals and hydraulic fluid, which costs a fraction of replacing the whole operator.
- Surge damage to BFT control boards during monsoon season. July through September, lightning strikes near Summerlin and Henderson kill the low-voltage side of BFT boards. The gate goes completely dead, no lights, no response. We install a replacement board and upgrade the surge protection on the incoming line, because it’ll happen again without it.

Our BFT Gate Repair Process
- 1
You call (725) 529-9468 and tell us what the gate is doing wrong. Cole Rafferty and the team listen first. The exact symptom tells us most of what we need to know before we leave the shop.
- 2
We give you a written price before any work starts. That price covers diagnosis, parts, and labor. No surprise line items on the invoice. If we open the box and find something unexpected, we stop and explain before touching anything else.
- 3
A named, photo-badged technician arrives at your door. You get the technician’s name and photo before arrival. That’s the Threshold Standard, and it applies to every BFT job we do in Las Vegas.
- 4
We diagnose the specific fault on your BFT unit. We test the capacitor, board, limit switches, and motor draw with a meter. We look at the wiring terminations and check for heat damage, rodent damage, or corrosion.
- 5
We decide OEM versus aftermarket on the spot. For critical safety components like boards and photocells, we use BFT OEM parts. For capacitors and some mechanical bits, a quality aftermarket part can save you $40 to $80 with no difference in performance. We tell you which is which and why.
- 6
We test the gate through 10 full cycles, clean up, and walk you through what was fixed. Every repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If it fails within a year, the return visit is free, period.

AfterWhat BFT Gate Repair Costs in Las Vegas
Here’s what our BFT repair work costs in Las Vegas based on what we actually see. These are the real numbers we quote over the phone:
- Diagnostic call: $65 to $95, credited entirely toward the repair if you approve the work.
- Capacitor replacement: $180 to $260.
- Limit switch replacement and re-learn: $190 to $280.
- Photocell realignment or replacement: $140 to $220.
- Control board replacement (BFT OEM): $320 to $580 depending on the model.
- Hydraulic actuator seal rebuild: $390 to $550.
- Full operator replacement (labor included): $1,200 to $2,800, depending on the BFT series and gate weight.
What moves the price: which BFT series you have, whether it’s swing or slide, how far we drive, and whether the failure took out multiple components. Why Las Vegas Homeowners Call Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas for BFT Work
Cole Rafferty built Warden Gate Repair Las Vegas around one thing he couldn’t find when he needed a gate repair himself: a straight answer on cost before anyone picks up a wrench. Tell me what it’s doing wrong, and I’ll tell you exactly what it costs to fix it. Every BFT repair we do in Las Vegas comes with a written price before work begins, a named technician with a photo ID badge at your door, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If the repair fails within a year, we return free.
We work on BFT equipment every week, and when a BFT unit isn’t worth saving, we can talk through LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, or DoorKing options without pushing you toward a brand we prefer. Calls are answered by a live person 24/7, not a voicemail. If your gate goes down at 2 a.m. near Summerlin or Centennial Hills, a real person picks up.
FAQs
We’re an independent BFT service provider, so we don’t process manufacturer warranty claims. What we do honor is our own 365-Day Done Right Promise: every repair we make is guaranteed in writing for a full year, and if it fails, the return visit is free. If your BFT unit is still under factory warranty, we’ll let you know before touching anything so you can make the call on whether to file a claim first. Call (725) 529-9468 and we’ll talk through your options.
Most of our Las Vegas BFT repairs are scheduled same-day or next-day, depending on where you are and what the call volume looks like. We keep common BFT parts on the truck, including capacitors, limit switches, and photocells, so we’re often done in a single visit. If your gate is stuck open and security is a concern, tell us when you call. Call (725) 529-9468 and we’ll give you a real arrival window, not a four-hour range.
It depends on which Rigel board you have. The Rigel 5 and Rigel 6 boards had several production runs, and the mid-run units had a battery backup circuit that failed hot and burned the board trace. If that’s what we find, replacing the board is usually cheaper than replacing the whole operator, and a new board gives you another eight to ten years. But on a 20-year-old Rigel with a worn gearbox and a leaking arm, a new BFT or a different-brand operator might be the smarter move. We’ll show you the condition of your unit and let you decide with real costs in hand. Call (725) 529-9468 for a free estimate.
We keep the high-failure BFT parts on our trucks and in our Las Vegas shop: capacitors, limit switches, photocells, and the common control boards for Deimos, Phobos, and Rigel series units. Specialty items like hydraulic piston assemblies or older Aftermarket accessories can take two to five days to arrive. If we know what your gate needs from the first call, we’ll order before we arrive so we’re not making you wait. Call (725) 529-9468 and describe the symptom. We’ll tell you right then if the part is already on the truck.
The math is simple when we lay it out: if the repair cost is under half the cost of a new operator and the unit is under 12 years old, repair usually makes sense. If the board, the gearbox, and the arm all show signs of age, or if you’re spending money on the same BFT unit every year, replacement starts to look smarter. We’ll give you both prices on paper and let you choose. The quote is free either way. Call (725) 529-9468 and ask for Cole Rafferty. He’ll walk you through the decision without pushing you one way or the other.
